Kaitlyn Calabro successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis on October 24th, 2019. Every student stands out for a particular reason. For Kait, it was her height (or lack thereof!), and her incredible work ethic. I knew from the first week of her lab rotation that she had enough elbow grease to would move the field forward. I am so honored that she was my student and even more honored that she chose to remain in the Boye Lab family for another couple of years to finish up her translational work on MYO7A-associated Usher Syndrome.
